Approvals Needed Before Installing New Elevator In The Building

There was a time when people preferred to take the stairs even if their home was at 2 or 3 storey. However, over the years in Tennessee, the trend of home and residential lifts has increased. Well, it is only humans to get the lift installed for people who find it difficult to take the stairs due to problem in their joints or some health issues. Before hiring the elevator company in Tennessee, there are various terms and conditions to follow when you are getting the elevator installed in the building which was not constructed in the first place keeping in mind that sometime in a future elevator would be installed.

Did You Check With Them First

One such certificate you need to get is the NOC certificate from the Fire department. Yes, if the residential building does not have the elevator planned when it was constructed then it would be better to get the building checked by the fire department authorities. The elevator installation should only be taken forward when the fire department checks the site of elevator installation and deems it fit.

Next in line comes the department, which checks the stability and strength of the building depending on the number of years it has gone into the construction and how well the maintenance is done. Usually, a structural engineer will come from the department and make sure that the structure is able to bear all the work that is needed to be done for installing the elevators. Taking some safety measures is suggested to ensure the safety.
